On Friday, the 5th, Kyle turned 10. Merrilee woke him up by singing happy birthday and when she was done, he said ‘Finally I am 10′. On Saturday, the 6th, he had his real first birthday party. He invited 5 of his school friends and had his party at a near by play center called Lost In Fun. It is more of place for smaller kids etc but with the weather being has it has been, it was close by and the kids were all able to make it. Kyle didn’t care because he had a lot of fun with the boys. He was pooped that night, lights out around 8. You will find more pictures of his birthday fun on the link under Family Fun!

On December 28, Marc started a new chapter in his career. He has been transferred to another store to give their produce department a major overhaul. He was really sad about leaving the 48th store, where his employees and store staff were like his family. They presented him with this cake, which was a big surprise, since it looked like a Dutch flag and the inscription was written in Dutch. The look on his face says it all! He had been at the 48th store since he started with the company in 2005. So now a new challenge awaits him for the next 4-5 years. Good luck Sweetie, we know you can do it!

Over our Christmas holiday/break, we were dumped with lots of snow. To make matters worse, we had blizzard conditions which means there were 2 feet drifts everywhere. They say Nebraska has not had this bad of a winter since 1962. Kyle and Merrilee were house bound for over a week.

Kyle and Bart have really started to bond. It has taken a while and Bart still doesn’t totally trust Kyle but it’s getting there. The little snowman Kyle is holding is something he made at school. He is not very creative and hates art but I must say, job well done, for him.
